Hendrik is a qualified Chemical Engineer, complemented with an MBA and over 30 years of Operational experience across various industries. Hendrik brings exceptional knowledge and subject matter expertise gained through managing start-ups and growing companies across the African continent. He has been actively involved in the Cannabis industry since 2017 and has consulted to numerous start-ups across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Over the last five years Hendrik has established an international network across sectors of the Cannabis industry and has developed partnerships across the value chain.
Jan achieved his Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Biotechnology and Conservation Management. He is also a Professional Tree Climber and started and ran his own Specialist Tree Care company in Belgium. He first visited Malawi in 2006 we he did his Final Thesis on Inventarisation of Wild Orchids.
From an early stage in life Jan has been working with Cannabis Plants which has given him a full spectrum of relevant Growing, Harvesting and Processing knowledge. Jan has the know-how to care for Cannabis Plants and do what is required to obtain regular successful harvests. He has experience in the Setup, Growing Phases as well as Processing Procedures to consistently reach valuable End Products.
His love for nature and adventure, and the possibilities available there, drove him to settle in Malawi a number of years ago. He has adapted to the culture, the language and the people of Malawi.
Ainsley has his origins in the sugarcane farming industry and later qualified with B.Sc Engineering in Mechatronics. He has extensive Post Qualification experience in Infrastructure Development Activities across various countries Africa. He brings project rollout expertise from the early stages of the design process through to the final stages of construction and commissioning as well as the development and implementation of maintenance activities.
Ainsley is technology driven with a strong focus on improving efficiency while maintaining overall simplicity. He has a Master Certificate in Cannabis from the Cannabis Training University in Denver, Colorado and has spent the past three years exploring Cannabis opportunities across Africa.
Laura holds a BBusSci (Finance Honours) from the University of Cape Town and worked in the Private Bank division of Absa Bank in South Africa for a two years before moving on to start a new business.
Over 17 years of running a business has taught invaluable lessons in many aspects of business especially in administration, legal, compliance and information systems.
The experience of owning and operating a business from start to maturity meant that wearing many hats was a necessity and flexibility the only way to succeed.
Allan has a broad range of international business experience having established companies in the UK, France, Ireland, Nigeria, Canada and the US. Although much of this experience has been in enterprise IT, he has been, and is, on the board of several companies ranging from manufacturing to retail. Allan brings deep experience in business management, coaching and sales.
An Engineer by training and with the business and MBA background, Allan offers both technical insight and business application in an international environment.
Within our partnerships we have an established tissue culture propagation facility with a developed seed bank, with specific strains adapted for the local markets. We have access to specific strains in Uganda, DRC and Rwanda as well as the ability to develop strains that are site specific for optimum yields due to our highly qualified technical personnel which include Horticulture and Tissue Culture PhD’s. These facilities include a laboratory able to test for cannabinoids.
We are part of a pool of growers with decades of growing experience across Southern Africa, able to translocate. These growers who have also worked in international markets, bring crucial knowledge of local growing conditions and of managing in African conditions and contexts. This includes extensive knowledge of GAP and GMP processes and SOP development and refinement.
We have in house knowledge and experience in curing of cannabis plants as well as experience in extraction of cannabis pils for medicinal markets. We have MoU’s in place with international technical partners, experts in extraction and a team of qualified Engineers able to design, commission and manage extraction. Our executive team has knowledge of managing in African conditions and contexts.
We have established partners with 20 years’ experience in logistics management and extensive experience in distribution from Africa to Europe and the Middle East. This knowledge of Africa conditions and regulations regarding logistics.
Established sales personnel in Europe, the UK and Israel. A network of contacts across various countries in the developed world with International partners in the USA, Europe and Israel in the retail space. These include experience in consumer goods packaging.
